Per the Chintai Proxy framework, we are pleased to provide the reasons why each vote has been cast for each of the 16 Block Producers in the inaugural slate. It is important to note that while each sponsor of the Chintai platform is guaranteed a spot at launch, they will not be guaranteed a spot in the future and will be evaluated by the proxy managers the same way all others are. Regardless, reasons for their inclusion are also given below. For any questions for feedback please visit the Chintai telegram.
Block Matrix
Blockmatrix is an extremely technically minded block producer founded by Pete Cheyne, Chris Tuohy, and Alan Howard. Their corporate headquarters are in London, UK, and their producing node is in North Virginia US. Specifically focused infrastructure tooling, Blockmatrix has built the EOS API Proxy and eosnode.tools. The EOS API Proxy is a solution for developers who are looking for consistent full-history API access to the EOS blockchain. In order to help the dApp ecosystem on EOS, the EOS API proxy acts an umbrella service that processes over half a billion requests per day and distributes traffic to the nearest API from a collective of individual API providers. Their other large initiative, eosnode.tools, is a microsite that contains turnkey tooling for those who wish to maintain their own full node on the EOS Blockchain. Along with their active contributions to the technical community through outreach and engagement, Blockmatrix is providing foundational technology solutions for the EOS blockchain.
CryptoLions
Cryptolions was founded by Bohdan Kossak and Roman Skaskiw. Their corporate headquarters are located in Kyiv & Lviv Ukraine. Their producer node is located in Germany. Cryptolions has been heavily involved in EOS since prior to the June launch. They built and maintained the largest publicly available testnet, Jungle, which is the playground for many to push the boundaries of what EOS is capable of. They also built and maintained the first EOS network monitor that allowed EOS token-holders to monitor BP node status, blocks produced, voting, and more. They’ve spent significant resources to acquire and maintain, zeos.co, a free account creation portal that only asks you pay the cost of RAM. At a more technical level, their mongo history API plugin has been used as the basic building block for many API plugin deployments across multiple Block Producers. As far as contributions to governance are concerned, Cryptolions has cultivated the Deru truth bond system which allows parties to guarantee their promises and post EOS as a bond.
EOS42
EOS42 was founded by David Packham and Charles Holtzkampf. Their corporate headquarters are in the Cayman Islands, and their producing node is in London, UK. EOS 42 has demonstrated ongoing technical innovation & development, community outreach & engagement, consistent reinvestment of block rewards into the EOS mainnet, and political leadership & transparency. EOS42 developed and maintains the Chintai token leasing platform which provides a critical service through periods of CPU shortages and empowers token-holders to produce passive income from their EOS tokens. They also provide incubation services and invest their block rewards into budding projects such as Lumeos. Their technical leadership also extends to projects such as the first three iterations of the referendum contract, developing scalable solutions for full history nodes, DDOS prevention guidance, and generally pioneering application development on EOS. EOS42 is a fully self-funded, independent organization and is regularly evangelizing EOS in local communities. Furthermore, EOS42 has shown ongoing thought leadership and proactive participation in the development of governance models that will harmonize the balance between power, justice, and equanimity.
EOS Cannon
EOS Cannon is a decentralized autonomous community with one of the largest communities EOS token holders in the world. Since the second half of 2017, EOS Cannon has actively engaged in multiple global crypto forums, public internet sites and social media to evangelize the EOS mainnet. EOS Cannon has been working closely with many EOS block producers as well as developer communities around the world. As an active advocate, promoter and practitioner of the EOS ecosystem, EOS Cannon community focuses on ecosystem incubation, Dapp support & investment, developer training, and close cooperation with a number of international organizations, investment firms, and financial institutions. Since EOS mainnet launch, besides being a top block producer, EOS Cannon has hosted over a dozen community meetups in China and overseas, has set up Cannon Capital, and has established and participated in global dApp incubators. EOS Cannon has partnered with quite a few dApps to support them and arrange domestic/global marketing exposure. They’ve developed Cannon offline wallet for large token-holders both inside and outside EOS Cannon community. They’ve set up and maintained the Cannon proxy, which is run by the community, to proactively participate in voting and various governance discussion. They’ve has published many EOS related news flash and editorial articles through community and crypto media cooperation as well as actively contributed to Everipedia. eosDAC
eosDAC was founded upon the vision that EOS.IO block production should be open for everyone to contribute and benefit. To realize this vision, eosDAC is an evolving Decentralised Autonomous Community (DAC) focused on EOS.IO Block Production serving the EOS communities worldwide. In doing this, eosDAC is creating the tools and smart contracts it needs to function and shares these with the EOS communities to help other DACs thrive on the EOS.IO blockchains. eosDAC is not a company and the members are not shareholders, instead, eosDAC tokens confer membership and control of the DAC through voted Custodians and other mechanisms. eosDAC does this through its constitution; a ground-breaking effort to codify how a new organisation like a DAC can govern itself. On the infrastructure front, eosDAC has contracted to host its own servers in privately owned data centres in Manchester and Bucharest, centers which provide comprehensive security, resilience and bandwidth capacity and are ranked Europe’s greenest for electricity consumption. Further servers are being deployed in Gibraltar where eosDAC is also exploring the unique licensing potential available to ‘Distributed Ledger Technology’ operators in that jurisdiction. In South Korea, eosDAC is working on a ‘bare metal through cloud solution’ within an IBM data center.
eosDublin
eosDublin is an Independent block producer based in Dublin, Ireland. They have been a supporter and sponsor of Chintai since the idea was conceived. As well as being highly technically proficient they have supported several community initiatives and have always shown leadership on key issues. Their approach is anchored by four core values: Independence, Integrity, Honesty, and Education. Their flagship community project www.eosbootcamp.com receives over 20k unique visits per month and with more than 5,000 EOS course completions all of which is offered for free. They are currently working on their next project, Ignition, to help dApps launch, scale, and build a global community.
EOS Detroit
EOS Detroit brings a cognitively diverse team with deep backgrounds in tech, business, finance, creative design, and community building. The team has a combined 10+ years of technical competency in DPOS blockchains having served both the Steem and Bitshares communities, along with seasoned DevOps and network infrastructure professionals with over 15 years of experience. Rob “Robrigo” Konsdorf has been contributing effort EOS since the project was announced, having served as an EOSIO ambassador since mid 2017. Since that time the EOS Detroit team has participated in the broader EOSIO community in many ways, including publication of The Weekly Airdrop: An EOSIO focused research report, evangelizing and educating about EOS and EOSIO technology early on, as individuals mentoring at EOS Hackathons, participating in governance discussions, live-streaming Block Producer calls in furtherance of community transparency, as well as hosting and live-streaming local conversations on the intersection of blockchain technology and many of the critical issues which we face as a society. EOS Detroit is focused on mainstream adoption of EOSIO technology, and delivering products and tools to communities most in need of alternative economic systems. EOS Detroit is also a co-founder of the Detroit Blockchain Center with a handful of other Detroit-area blockchain startups and consultants. Looking to 2019, the team is working in stealth on a pilot DAC and complementary currency project which can be used to purchase wireless internet access, and developing dynamic ownership “Slicing Pie” management software which has been deployed in the company internally, and on other EOSIO chains.
MEET.ONE
Meet.one is a Singapore based team successfully elected as a genesis block producer on June 15, 2018. With a focus on bringing mainstream traffic into the EOS ecosystem and lowering usage barriers for novice users, the Meet.one team has built and released their Meet.one EOS Wallet (integrated wallet, dApp center, and EOS media functions) and an EOS premium candy box project — MORE.one (receive airdrops without EOS). Meet.one has so far serviced cumulatively over 300K registered users. In addition, the Meet.one team plans to launch an EOS side chain, to facilitate/help more dApp developers in order to achieve their dreams at lower cost, to reduce mainnet load and to accelerate EOS ecosystem overall evolution. Furthermore, is a top Chinese EOS media publisher, having published over 5000 articles, covering updates from Block.one, Dan Larimer and major block producers. It reaches an audience of over 500,000 people. The Meet.one team also allocated partial block producer rewards to create free EOS account for new users. Over 4000 users have benefited from this action so far.
EOS Nation
EOS Nation was founded by seven self-funded individuals located across North America but mainly based in the Eastern part of Canada. EOS Nation consistently contributes time and resources across the entire EOS ecosystem, while demonstrating their commitment and technical ability by providing reliable infrastructure and spreading worldwide awareness and education. They have been active since well before the Mainnet launch and have grown a network of communities around the globe lead by over 20 local EOS Nation Ambassadors, each linked together under the common vision of spreading EOS adoption through education. EOS Nation serves as a link between global EOS communities. In a world separated by cultural and language barriers, they recognize common ground where progress can thrive and they focus on bringing the voice of the community to the thought leadership discussion tables in which they actively participate. Known for their core values of Integrity, Professionalism, Transparency & Accountability, they’ve adapted their position on key issues based on community feedback. They take pride in giving the global EOS community a voice. With this in mind, EOS Nation has dedicated themselves to working on projects such as the EOS Referendum System, which gives EOS token holders a direct voice in the governance of the network. Coordinating a team of competing Block Producers, they managed the project to completion and developed the tally tool necessary for counting votes. They are in the midst of a bare metal transition into their data center which will be live in January 2019.
EOS New York
EOS New York was founded by Kevin Rose, Rick Schlesinger, and Buddy Deck. They are headquartered in the Cook Islands and their producing node is in Brazil. EOS New York was the first block producer to establish a candidacy in the Western world in January of 2018 but was an active participant in all aspects of EOS well before then. They focus on building simple and scalable solutions across developer tooling and user experiences in order to position EOS as the most attractive dApp platform on Earth. After building the first resource calculator, the EOS Resource Planner EOSrp.io, they produced EOSCharge.io, a tool that delivers a personalized report of how many actions and of what type your EOS account can execute in a 24 hour period. EOS New York provides a free snapshot service to dApps where they can easily pull snapshots of the account balances in order to facilitate airdrops on EOS. They also support an open source documentation hub for EOS, eosdocs.io, as well as an easy to read voter tool, eosstats.io. After understanding the difficulty of deploying smart contracts on EOS they produced EOS Easy Contract, which not only allows you to deploy smart contracts on-chain without compiling any software, it also allows Windows developers to join the EOS community. Beyond tooling, they are focused on building the first EOS specific hardware wallet for use with dApps for release in Q1 2019, as well as both an upcoming enterprise solution and an open-source solution to some common problems experienced by EOS users. They are in the midst of a bare metal transition into their data center which will be live January 2019. On the governance side, they have championed the EOS User Agreement, an open-source proposal for practical and enforceable EOS governance.
EOSphere
EOSphere are an Australian based and registered PTY LTD business headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. Committed to EOS they aim to serve the entire EOSphere, enabling community growth and EOSIO platform adoption through the provision of foundational block producer services and community benefit initiatives. EOSphere have been a member of the global EOSIO community since the beginning of 2018 and pledged their sponsorship and support of the Chintai Platform at inception, many months before EOS Mainnet launched. Ultimately EOSphere can be considered as Good Actors and Excellent Custodians of EOS and other sister-chains. They have the required technical expertise, professionalism and infrastructure; they sponsor and support the community initiatives; they are upstanding members of the global community, highly visible and easily contactable; and they aim to make EOS the business-friendly platform is was built to be. The EOSphere team is not only made up of professionals but by amazing people directly from the greater EOSIO community each with their unique personality, skillset and value they bring to our colorful ecosystem.
EOS Sw/eden
EOS Sw/eden was founded by Eric Björk and Vahid Toosi. The primary focus and contribution of EOS Sw/eden is EOS blockchain infrastructure and security. Sw/eden offers the highest levels of security practices in conjunction with efficient vertical and horizontal scaling. Their nodes are distributed in several locations throughout Sweeden, where they have selected a diverse mix of ISP’s and power grids. Each node is secured by a backup power supply. In January 2018, the first community test-net, “Super Heroes”, was created by the proto-Sw/eden team. Block Producer candidates from across the globe joined “Super Heroes” to test the first edition of EOS.io deployed by the EOS community-Dawn 2018–01–05. Leading up to launch a secure method to launch and run the mainnet was their primary concern. Sw/eden led a secure launch effort as a part of the “Ghostbusters”, which continues to provide behind the scenes assistance with best-practice methods for node security. Sw/eden is dedicated to helping EOS become a dominant blockchain, and ultimately bring forth a robust wave of mass-adoption.
EOS Tribe
EOS Tribe was founded by Eugene Luzgin and Steve Floyd and is one of the early Block Producer candidates who has worked with the Ghostbusters group on technical and security challenges related to Mainnet launch. EOS Tribe provides technical leadership in the EOS community on new technical initiatives and scalability challenges that arise as the EOS Blockchain grows. EOS Tribe invests into enterprise level server infrastructure and is working diligently on delivering scalable History API solutions to an ever growing number of applications. EOS Tribe also invests in new development initiatives and education in order to benefit the EOS community. In addition, EOS Tribe actively engages and participates in critical decisions that impact the EOS community. Their voice carries far and wide as EOS Tribe can always be counted on to speak openly and honestly about issues that matter to the token holders.
EOSYS
EOSYS, part of the blockchain company builder Chain Partners, EOSYS team was founded to foster the EOS ecosystem. EOSYS dove into the world of EOS even before the Mainnet launch with EOSscan (http://eosscan.io), which was the most popular EOS ICO monitoring site since its launch at June 2017. They declared their candidacy in the primary candidate registration period and have worked tirelessly to boost the expansion and development of EOS. They have been focusing on vitalizing DApp ecosystem(ex. DApp Contest and DApp Festa), governance & community (ex. promoting Worker Proposal System, hosting EOS Ignite) and making usable tools for token holders (eoshub.io). Chain Partners is the first global blockchain company builder from Korea. They identify, develop, and invest in blockchain companies. Chain Partners is playing an integral role in the international blockchain community, creating projects in blockchain technology, consumer products, cryptography, exchanges, payments, media, and education. Chain Partners has successfully raised Series A, and within a year they have grown into a team of more than 100 members.
Oracle Chain
OracleChain is a block production team based in Beijing and Singapore and led by industry veterans Harvey Zhao, John Tan, and Chengen Song. The team has made numerous open source contributions to the EOSIO community on GitHub such as PocketEOS, EOSDevHelper, EOSBenchTool, and TBS, totalling 12 tools, 3 digital wallets, and 10 smart contracts. OracleChain has submitted a total of 46 blockchain patents application to the State Intellectual Property Office of China. The team has also participated in the development of China’s national blockchain technology standards. These standards include blockchain reference architecture (ISO matching), blockchain data format specification (ISO matching), and trusted blockchain (ITU matching).
Team Greymass
Greymass was founded by Aaron Cox and Scott Sallinen. They are headquartered in Canada and their producer node is in Canada. They were also first to market with a well-functioning desktop wallet that the community was clamoring for back during the EOS launch. Since then, Greymass has strived for technical excellence with regard to their fundamental infrastructure solutions. This technical excellence stems from their deeply rooted experience in DPOS block production across blockchains like STEEM, Golos, Decent, Peerplays, Muse, and Karma. Greymass provides one of the only full-history API nodes available on EOS, an incredibly valuable service to all dApp developers. They have also championed technical expertise across all top 21 block producers in order to provide a consistent end-user experience for all EOS token-holders. This is a markedly collaborative approach and a welcome one across EOS. Most recently they’ve released their new architectural design for the history API, light history.
Block Matrix

EOS Cannon

EOS Sw/eden
